Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Whew. My brand new blog and I already have fallen into the classic blogger 'radio silence.' oops. Sorry about that-- will try to be better going forward.

Things in our neck of the woods are good. I have been busy at work and at home. We have a couple of exciting Fitzpatrick things to announce, but need to wait a bit to do that.

We do have some good news though. . . I went in to get my CMV avidity (immunity response) tested and I am showing a long term infection which is good. . . which means that I now have a healthy amount of antibodies. . . which means that if I were to contract CMV again while pregnant I would be healthy enough to fight it off on my own without passing it to the baby . . . which means I can have another baby! woo hoo trumpets!

That said, we aren't entirely sure we want to do that yet. We are now under 10 on the waiting list for an Ethiopian boy. Which is very exciting. Matt and I dreamed of growing our brood through adoption and despite the many (good) changes to the court system in Ethiopia we are still slowly creeping up the list. The agency isn't going to make any predictions on how long until we get a referral or how long until we are able to get our little boy (or girl, but we are much lower on the girl list) home.

We are feeling pretty lucky to have a couple of options in how we grow our family.
